Event Description:

The Mount Royal Conservatory is pleased to welcome the famed Italian guitar duo, SoloDuo, (Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Micheli) to Mount Royal University’s Leacock Theatre Wednesday, February
24.

The concert continues the Conservatory’s 2009 / 2010 Wyatt Artist in Residence Series, which brings master classical musicians from around the globe exclusively to the Mount Royal campus for masterclasses, private instruction and a public concert.

Mela and Micheli’s careers have crossed often since their first meeting in 2000. Joining forces in 2003 as SoloDuo, the pair has earned extensive critical acclaim.

As the Washington Post writes, their style is “extraordinarily sensitive, with effortless command and an almost unbearable delicacy of touch… rapturous – profound and unforgettable musicianship of the highest order.”
