Event Description:

Throughout the summer months we will be introducing an instillation of new paintings by Greg Edmonson as well as rotating work from all of our artists.

Gallery website visitors may have already heard that we are exceptionally excited to work with Edmonson. He has only recently come aboard, and already has produced a number of new works that we are very enthusiastic about! With permanent collections in The Nickle Arts Museum, The Toronto Dominion Bank and The Glenbow Museum just to name a few, this Calgary native is engaging and crowd-pleasing. Edmonson’s paintings have expansive subject matter — ranging from haunting portraits to geology-inspired landscapes & works commenting on the former USSR and the conflicting identities of the current Russian population. We are definitely looking forward to what he brings to this show, and encourage you to come see as well!

Additionally The Weiss Gallery will be showing works from France Jodoin, Jean-François Gromaire, Tanya Slingsby, Michael Levin, Lee Nielsen, Madeleine Lamont, Ben Cope, Janine Hall, Ronald Boaks and Barry Weiss amongst others.

In respect to these artists we are of the opinion that its summertime the living is easy. As such, the summertime show will have a lighthearted, fresh, and relaxed feel. We will be showcasing works vivid in color and upbeat in movement. By featuring several artists and mediums, and changing the work on display throughout the season, the show will be dynamic and constantly shifting — giving gallery-goers an eclectic yield by the end of August.

Gallery hours:  Tuesday – Saturday 10 – 5, or by appointment
