Sled Island is Calgary's annual independent multi-venue music and arts festival. This year, Sled Island Film will showcase 20+ signatory film programs in partnership with over 14 Alberta film festivals and film presentation societies between June 24 and 29. The art component of Sled Island will kick off with multiple parties on June 29 and 30 and run for the rest of the festival dates. Music shows will take place from June 30 - July 3 in venues around downtown, with the main outdoor site on the weekend of July 2 and 3 at Olympic Plaza (222 8th Ave. SE). Many of the festival headliners - Black Lips, The Melvins, The Thermals, F'd Up, GZA, No Age, etc. - will play in intimate club venues across Calgary.
