Event Description:

Even though Calgary is far away from the ancient Silk Road, yet there is a thread of connection through all the immigrants who have journeyed from Lebanon, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and China to make Calgary their new home. They share their spices, art, and culture adding a unique flavour to the Canadian multicultural tapestry.
Being a catalyst and connector, the Calgary Multicultural Centre connects diverse communities in Calgary and showcases poetry in its various form.
These series of poetry nights are featuring famous classical poets like Khalil Gibran, Rumi, Tagore, Omar Khayyam and others. In addition, local immigrant poets will recite their own poems on June 24.
Please join us to share, learn and celebrate the poetic heritage of Silk Road in Calgary
