Wednesday, September 29 featuring Andréa Petrity, piano & guest Frank Rackow, saxophone/clarinet

Andréa Petrity began studying classical piano at age 8 and holds a Diploma in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance through Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta. Throughout her studies in college and after, Andrea has taken advantage of a variety of performing opportunities including; ballet accompanist for former National Ballet of Canada principal dancer Clinton Rothwell, pianist in show bands on cruise ships, theatres, casinos, big bands, Calgary and Montana jazz festivals, studio recording and arranging projects, jazz clubs and restaurants, weddings and private functions.

Andrea's love for many styles of music allows her to be versatile with her performances - from working as a solo pianist, piano/vocal duo to larger ensembles and including a repertoire of jazz standards, blues, popular as well as original compositions and arrangements. Andrea is a freelance musician in Calgary and can be heard regularly at various venues through out the city. She also teaches piano and is involved with the Conservatory Canada as Examiner. Currently, Andrea is working on writing original tunes and arrangements for various projects.
