Devised in Tokyo in 2003, PechaKucha Nights are now taking place in over 600 cities around the world. Drawing their name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat," PechaKucha Nights are based on a simple presentation format: speakers present 20 slides each, for only 20 seconds per slide. It's a format that makes presentations concise and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
PechaKucha Nights in Calgary are presented by Calgary Arts Development and sponsored by East Village.
Our next event, PechaKucha Night Calgary #16: Sweet Sixteen takes place on June 3, 2013 at Theatre Junction GRAND, 608 1st Street SW.
Sweet Sixteen. The end of innocence. A turning point or inflection point that marks the end of the beginning and the beginning of maturity. Yet still an awkward time. It isn't all worked out yet, and it sure isn't all sweet. We all have these moments in our lives. Sometimes we can't wait for them to happen, sometimes we dread them. But we've got to get through them.
