For over 20 years, summer concert-goers have enjoyed the unique opportunity to hear the King of Instruments - the pipe organ.

 

This year the series is taking place in the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer - a century-old Cathedral (located on the corner of 7th Ave and 1st Street SE), on the LRT line at Olympic Plaza station. 

 

When you walk through the arched doorway, you will enter into a majestic space of stained-glass and carved wood and meet another one of Calgary's King of Instruments - a Canadian-built organ, nearly as old as Alberta, whose pipes sing the stories of the past hundred years and beyond. Whether you are coming to relax, re-energize, or spend an hour out of your lazy day to do something different, make Friday lunch hours the time to open your senses to the beautiful colours and shapes of architecture and music.
