Until May 9, venues throughout Calgary will welcome performers from across North America for what is Western Canada's largest comedy festival. With 12 venues, 20 themes and over 11,000 punchlines, this year's theme is "Olympics of Laughter."
FunnyFest features a diverse lineup of events, ranging from the "Best of the Fest" events at the Delta Bow Valley (209 4th Ave. SE) through May 2, to the nightly "Full Frontal Comedy" events at the Old Spaghetti Factory (222 3rd Street SW), to family-friendly shows on Saturday, May 1 and Saturday, May 8 at the Old Spaghetti Factory. "Battle of Alberta," "Comedy Heart Attack" and "Women of Comedy" are just some of the themes that will shape the Festival's many events. Headliners include Will Durst, Chris Fairbanks and Tony Boswell.
