Event Description:

Calgary's completely live, completely improvised comedy soap opera, DIRTY LAUNDRY, returns to the stage on Monday, September 20.

Season 11: The Grapes of Wrathburn invites audiences to journey to the lush and breathtaking vineyards of British Columbia’s wine country. When the Wrathburn family finds the success of their winery under threat, this rich and powerful dynasty of elites will crush more than mere grapes beneath their feet. The love, the hate, and the bitter aftertaste all make up the flavour of DIRTY LAUNDRY’S 11th season.

Since 1999, DIRTY LAUNDRY has kept Calgary audiences in stitches with its unique brand of improvised comedy and weekly cliffhangers. Last season the troupe presented The Amazing Rinse in which reality television contestants were required to race across 10 provinces in pursuit of a $10 million dollar grand prize.

With their first decade of long-form improvisation under their belt, the ensemble of DIRTY LAUNDRY has had plenty of opportunities to experiment with the form. Asked where this season fits in the spectrum of ventures over the years, co-producer and improviser, Karen Johnson-Diamond, expresses a delight in the purity of this year’s storyline:

"We are going back to the essence of soap opera —over the top, melodramatic and ridiculously serious. Full of passion and desperation. This is where it all began. I grew up watching The Young and the Restless… I’ve done YEARS OF RESEARCH for this season!"
