They say that March comes in like a lion, and Calgary’s art and fashion community has something especially fierce to look forward to: Saturday March 6, 2010 the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre will be transformed into a topsy-turvy doll house for PARKSHOW Spring 2010, an event promising a must-see fashion show, live performances, art exhibits and a dance party. The event is held to feature Calgary’s promising young art and design talent and raise the funds necessary for PARK to host future events to promote local artistic talent.
This Spring’s PARKSHOW is set to live up to PARK’s growing reputation with live performances from musician Lauren Mann and dance group Dangerkat., more vendors and art, and another energetic after show party with live DJs. Inspired by their own appreciation of play and reinterpreting the atmosphere of the cultural center, this spring’s fashion show theme is a playful twist on antique porcelain dolls. PARK has planned an artistically captivating event with a bigger line up of fashion designers, including both veteran participants such as House of Nonie and new additions like Lael Osness and Kyle Nyland.
News about upcoming PARK projects and information and images from past events can be found on the group’s newly re-launched website http://www.ourPARKonline.com, and updates can be found on PARK’s Twitter @ourPARKonline as well as on their Facebook page.

Placement of the elements can be critical to whether the design works or is a dismal failure.
