He’s played with Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Willie Dixon, James Cotton, Paul Butterfield and Bob Dylan.
He was the first Chicago bluesman to play the King Eddy and he initiated the infamous Saturday afternoon jam – originally dubbed the Jam with Sam - in that hallowed blues venue.
Now, legendary bluesman Sam Lay will share his wisdom and memories and host Cantos’ Blue Mondays All Ages Blues Jam on Monday, February 22.
Join Sam at Cantos Music Foundation at 6:00 p.m. to hear his reminiscences about the Eddy’s glory days and then stick around for the all ages blues jam at 7:00. Admission is free, but reserve your spot for the workshop online at www.cantos.ca as seating is limited.
