Event Description:

Budding theatre company, ANCHOR|RED presents its debut production of aWay, by company co-founder Brieanna Blizzard.
aWay is a coming of age adventure that celebrates the beauty of hope, the power of imagination, and the resilience of love. This new solo-creation is rich with magic realism and boasts a compelling original score. A remarkably touching and refreshingly quirky story of one woman's life and her struggle between the cynic and the dreamer within her.
This new work is directed by Calgary favourite and Betty Mitchell Award Nominee, Valerie Planche and has been created with original music by Betty Mitchell Award Nominated Composer and company co-founder Andrew Blizzard. aWay is created by and stars Brieanna Blizzard, whose work as an actor has been seen on all major professional Calgary stages. Her work as a creator, as half of The Wind-Up Dames, has been produced by ATP's playRites Festival and by Ground Zero Theatre.
This production is Co-Directed and Stage Managed by Michael Howard, with Lighting Design by Kalyna Conrad and Technical Direction by Alec McCauley.
