Explore the Cultural District
Not sure where to begin? Here are a few stops to add to your itinerary.

Start off with lunch at Traders Grill in the Marriott Hotel for their legendary Salad By Design. Or, if you feel like something quick, visit AAA Pizza for a slice.
Walk up Stephen Avenue to see some of Calgary’s original architecture. Pop into The Art Gallery of Calgary to view textiles by Judy Chicago, or The Glenbow Museum for sculptures blending Indigenous art with Japanese Manga.
Perfect for an afternoon break, Teatro Ristorante offers 50% off all beverages and select bottles from the cellar from 3 - 5pm on weekdays.
Look up - way up - and you’ll spot the Calgary Tower. Visit the 191 metre-tall structure and test your courage by standing on the observation deck’s glass floor.
Walk two blocks north to Art Central, a hub for the arts that houses over 50 artists. Across the street is Theatre Junction GRAND in their recently renovated 1912 building.
Close by, the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts takes centre stage for Alberta Arts Days, September 18 - 20. Catch a production by Theatre Calgary, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra or the BD&P World Music Series.
Head south on Macleod Trail to visit the Cantos Music Foundation for a tour of 700+ instruments, including one of Elton John’s pianos.
A little further south is Olives Restaurant. If you’re up for a night out, try the drinks and DJs at Raw Bar, or stay close to Olympic Plaza for some French influence at The Belvedere or New York inspiration at Divino.
Of course, this is just a snapshot of what’s available in the District. View the full Arts & Dining Guide here.
