LiveRush Calgary - Discount tickets for students
LiveRush offers high school, college and university students in Calgary an easy way to purchase low-cost ($20 and under), same-day tickets to Calgary arts events including music, theatre, dance and visual arts. Participating organizations include Alberta Ballet, Alberta Theatre Projects, Art Gallery of Calgary, Calgary Opera, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts, Lunchbox Theatre, One Yellow Rabbit, Theatre Calgary, Theatre Junction, Vertigo Mystery Theatre and many more. The $10,000 Kingston Prize is awarded in a biennial national competition for contemporary portraits of Canadians by Canadian artists. The exhibition of thirty finalists is being shown in Kingston, Ontario, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Toronto and Calgary.
Austentatious
After sell-out runs and critical raves in London (Enlgand), Philadelphia, New York (Off Broadway) and a second successful run in London, Austentatious, co-written by Calgarian Joe Slabe, FINALLY has its Canadian premiere in Calgary. Enjoy the ride as the Cochrane Ranche Amateur Players audition for, rehearse and, despite the odds, present their unique adaptation of Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice. Austentatious stars Ksenia Thurgood, David LeReaney, Onalea Gilbertson, Elinor Holt, Tory Doctor, Erin Breen, and Bryan Smith. Directed by Hal Kerbes with musical direction by Joe Slabe.
